Good Work for a Good Price: Fire Protection Systems by PSI

We asked one of our favorite customers about his experience working with PSI…

“My name is Peter Landry with the Diocesan Health Facilities Office of Fall River, MA. We run five skilled nursing facilities in southeast New England.

There was a steam piping project which I had to go forward with. There were some old steam pipes below grade that needed to be replaced, and one of our plumbers said you should check these people out at PSI. So I did.  And that project came out very well.

Then it was recommended by some federal safety inspectors that we should go to quick response sprinkler heads. I went out and got some pricing at one of our facilities to do that. Well, this was a bigger project than just typical maintenance of a fire sprinkler system. And I always go out for pricing when it’s going to be a significant job, like replacing several hundred sprinkler heads. And they ended up being the best price, so I went with them. That’s my introduction to PSI in terms of working with them on sprinkler fire protection.

I’ve reached out to them a couple of times on another facility when a water main break happened on the property and the building inspector wanted us to open up the mains inside the building and make sure there was no stones because of the break and the line, which was close to the street. They didn’t want to get any stones into the into the sprinkler system. So it’s one of those calls like, ‘Hey, I need some help right now,’ and they’ve been able to respond very well to some of my needs.

I always find that they do very good work for a good price. I have another facility where we’re looking at redoing the sprinkler system in the attic, and they recommended a sprinkler engineer. And that’s ongoing, but it seems to be working well. So, I use them for a resource as well as just doing work for us. It’s helpful when you can call somebody and if they can help you out, they will. If they can’t, they’ll give you a name. So that’s important in this business because a lot of times you’ve got to get stuff done fairly quickly.”
