Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association with 77 chapters representing 25,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with two million employees. ABC’s membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry. Piping Systems is a member of both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island Chapters.
The mission of the international nonprofit NFPA, established in 1896, is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire & other hazards on the quality of life by providing & advocating consensus codes & standards, research, training and education. The world’s leading advocate of fire prevention & an authoritative source on public safety, NFPA develops, publishes, & disseminates more than 300 consensus codes & standards intended to minimize the possibility & effects of fire & other risks. PSI is a proud member of the NFPA.
The American Fire Sprinkler Association, (AFSA) is a non-profit, international association representing open shop fire sprinkler contractors, dedicated to the educational advancement of its members and promotion of the use of automatic fire sprinkler systems. AFSA was organized in 1981 to provide the open shop fire sprinkler contractor with training, consulting, communication, representation and many more services, all of which have expanded over its existence. Membership is open to contractors, manufacturers, suppliers,designers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction. Currently, AFSA represents approximately 750 companies and individuals in the United States and throughout the world. AFSA believes that the installation of fire sprinklers could save thousands of lives and billions of dollars lost to fire each year. Increasingly, public officials are realizing this. AFSA acts as a liaison with other national associations involved in fire safety. Working together with government agencies, such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Fire Protection Association, the Residential Fire Safety Institute, and the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition, AFSA helps to create an awareness on the dangers of fire. PSI has been an AFSA member since: 2004.
One SouthCoast Chamber serves 19 communities in the South Coast of Massachusetts. One SouthCoast is a progressive organization that participates in initiatives that positively impact our business members and the quality of life in the South Coast region. Initiatives include education, economic development, trade shows, and legislative affairs.
BCPGIA is a non-profit association established in 2008 to provide educational services and knowledge and professionalism for the Plumbing and Gasfitting industry in the Bristol County area. BCPGIA offers the opportunity for plumbers, gasfitters, manufacturers to gather and share information & attend our informational meetings.
The Society of Fire Protection Engineers was established in 1950 and incorporated as an independent organization in 1971. It is the professional society representing those practicing the field of fire protection engineering. The Society has over 4000 members in the United States and abroad, and over 60 regional chapters. Piping Systems maintains a membership in this organization
PSI has joined the Merit Apprenticeship Program (MAP). MAP is a training coalition of merit shop contractors that have joined together to train individuals interested in pursuing careers in the construction trades. Training not only strengthens our companies, but also builds the future workforce we in construction so desperately need.
The mission of GCI is to provide high-quality training that prepares individuals for gainful employment and long- term opportunities in the construction industry. PSI enrolls their apprentices in the Gould Construction Institute.

Founded in 1898, The New England Plumbing, Gas and Mechanical Inspectors Association is a voluntary organization comprised of Plumbing, Gas, and Mechanical Inspectors in the 6 New England states: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island
The organization is devoted to the development and acceptances of uniform regulations and the overall betterment of the industry.
NFIB was founded by C. Wilson Harder in 1943 and maintained its headquarters in San Mateo, California, until 1992 when it was relocated to Nashville,TN. Harder began with a home office and sold the first memberships to his neighbors. His vision was to give small and independent business a voice in governmental decision-making through advocacy.
The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association is dedicated to the advancement and education of the plumbing and HVACR industry for the health, safety and welfare of society and the protection of the environment. PHCC provides legislative advocacy, education and training to approximately 3,300 plumbing and HVACR open shop and union businesses and 65,000 technicians. Approximately 125 state and local association affiliates are part of PHCC’s chapter network.
